《今日美國》報導，特斯拉 (Tesla)( (US-TSLA) ) 執行長馬斯克 (Elon Musk) 及 Uber 執行長卡蘭尼克 (Travis Kalanick) 將加入準總統川普 (Donald Trump) 的策略及政策討論，為他的企業顧問團增添「科技味」。
川普交接團隊周三 (14 日) 發表聲明證實，馬斯克及卡蘭尼克將加入，同樣入列的還有百事股份有限公司 (PepsiCo)( (US-PEP) ) 主席兼執行長 Indra Nooyi 。
川普於聲明中表示，「美國擁有全球最創新及最具生命力的企業，今天宣布加入顧問團隊的這些優秀 CEO ，在他們的領域當中都是表現最頂尖的人才。」
這個月稍早，川普揭曉擁有 16 位成員的策略及政策討論小組成立，將隨他組織經濟計畫給予指導與建議，但 16 人當中僅有 IBM 執行長 Ginni Rometty 為科技界代表。
川普指派趙小蘭 (Elaine Chao) 擔任運輸部長，被認為是對汽車共乘新創公司伸出友善之手，因為她過去曾發表「共享經濟」相關言論。至於自駕車，目前尚不清楚她是否會與共和黨同陣線，共和黨曾嚴厲批評歐巴馬政府對該技術的支持。不過 Uber 及特斯拉目前都在進行無人車技術測試。
另外， Rometty 於《今日美國》意見專欄上呼籲川普強化對美國勞工的「再訓練」，修補技術上的不足，使更多勞工技能符合新領 (new collar) 職缺的要求，「我們會開新職缺是因為，工作內容的本質正在進化，這也是為什麼有許多工作仍難以補足職缺」。
